Tom Voyce (b. 1989) is a Staffordshire born artist who studied at Aberystwyth School of Art in Wales, graduating with both a BA Hons and an MA. He exhibited throughout Wales, most notably at the Millennium Centre in Cardiff and later at the Mall Galleries in London before winning Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the Year in 2017.
Since winning the competition, Tom has travelled and exhibited widely, being represented by galleries in New Zealand and the US, delivering talks and workshops throughout, as well as featuring in various articles and publications such as Artist & Illustrator and Jacksons Art Magazine.
Tom’s subject matter comprises of a variety of different themes such as interiors and semi abstracted landscapes, often within the notion of place and transit. The artworks consistently demonstrate an interest in the formal elements of composition: structure, perspective, shape, and light. The strength in these pieces lies not in their faithful depiction of a landscape, but in their suggestion of a sense of place, of being present within a particular space at a particular moment.
