Carl Longmate Art

In the year 1957, he was born in the city of Manchester. Carl has always been interested in art and design since he was a kid, so art school was a foregone conclusion for him. He began his work as a completed artist in advertising, then as an interior designer, and finally as a self-employed individual, earning an award from the Department of Trade and Industry after three years of enjoyment (DTI).

He’s worked with incredible businesses like Vitra Switzerland and Steelcase in the United States. He is currently a full-time Plein-air painter who prefers to work in oil.

He’s always preferred to paint outdoors because it’s a more honest method of doing it.
